10 Inspiring Wedding Invitation Designs
Nowadays, it’s rare to go to a “traditional” wedding. Pretty much every wedding I’ve worked or attended has had at least a couple special twists to the traditional service, and they all usually have a very defined “theme”. So with more and more people trying to one-up their friends hip wedding, they continue to get more and more design intricate.
That’s where we come in! Everybody wants a cool invitation, and they are going to be coming to you to have one made. I’m no wedding planner, but it seems to me that from what I’ve seen an invitation is a lot like a header or a logo on a website; it defines the theme and feel for everything that follows. So it is very important to get it right! Here are 10 really neat and inspiring wedding invitation designs that I’ve come across on my web based adventures.
I’ve seen alot of alternative mediums for invitations, and wood is the coolest IMHO. Anything made out of nice looking wood is classy, and if you add some nice typography the sky is the limit.
Folding wedding invitations are really cool. If you go this route, you have a ton more surface area to work with and can display way more information. I like the brown cardboard looking paper along with black graphics on this invitation.
This design has a passport and maps! I don’t think it can get any cooler. You should just give up.
These are a lot simpler than some of the others, but they are very well done. The only thing that really bugs me is how they laid out everything on the minimalist looking “X”. It feels unbalanced to me with the heart on the right.
I really like the letterpress and gold foil look they went with on these. It’s a very classic and high-class look without being flashy or boring.
This is another simple design. It looks great, but the wedding invitation itself feels kind of generic. That isn’t really an issue, but hey, aren’t they spending money to be different?
Nice colors and nice typography. I think by the end of this wedding I wouldn’t wanna see another vector of hipster glasses for a while though.
This is another awesome letterpress design. The color overlay is pretty cool too.
There you have it! I hope these invitations inspired you along your wedding planning quests or helped you fulfill your design projects! If you wan’t to go the easy route and buy the exact invitation as seen here, every image links back to my source, where you can find the original designer or even an Etsy listing! Some designs of course are one-of-a-kind, but you can definitely read up about the design process to save some time.
