Like, Follow, Kill Review
Another page turner, amazing. Lots of twists at the end . Gotta say didn't like anyone. Camilla was wierd . Only like Lincoln
This was a carefully crafted story with plenty of twists and turns. I enjoyed how you little by little where able to discover what was going on. One thing is for sure this story really puts social media into a different light. Nothing is ever as it seems on social media. I enjoyed this story very much. Thank you to Netgalley for complimentary copy. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
A haunting and seeping look into the world of digital and real world voyeurism and what one would do if they were just a spectator into another's toxic voyeurism turned deadly. 'Like, Follow, Kill' is a not so subtle commentary on today's anti-social, social media obsessive culture. It looks at what one might do, if something stopped being on the screen of our computer and into our real life view. Would be help or just watch it happen and play out? I really enjoyed reading this book as it played in my head as if I was watching a movie on my TV screen. The narrative is entertaining and thought provoking. A must read for the Fall season.
Like Follow Kill is one cracker of a read! It is dark, twisted and is extremely enjoyable! I loved every word of it. I could not have been more intrigued after reading the blurb and had no idea of how much of a wild ride I would be taken on! There are so many twists and turns in this story, that I felt like I was on a never ending rollercoaster and I was still reeling when I was able to get off once the book had finished. My heart was racing and I felt like I was holding my breath throughout while on the edge on my seat, wanting to see how it was all going to unfold but also wanting to savour it. I could quite easily give something away by delving into the plot which obviously I dont want to do and I think the blurb gives you enough of a tease without me saying any more on it. What I will say though, is that Carissa has crafter a tightly woven story which she unravels a little piece at a time to keep you hooked. Like Follow Kill is a really great insight into how you can perceive someones life as being perfect through their social media posts but really there is always a nagging little voice in the background making you question is their life really that perfect. In some cases it is but in some its a just a facade. I really enjoyed digging in to this aspect of the story. There are only a few characters and although I didnt particularly like all of the characters in this story, I can not fault how they have been written and this in no way hindered my enjoyment of the book. It reinforced for me more that not everyone has to be perfect in the stories I read to make a book great. Camilla as the main narrator, carries the story well on her shoulders and she was a interesting character and the one that stood out the most to me as the story progressed. I wasnt always certain that her intentions were coming from a place of good, but I liked how I was kept guessing and how it all unfolded. I really liked Carissas style. She does a great job at getting a readers attention right from the start and takes you hostage until the final page. Like Follow Kill is the perfect book to get engrossed in. It is a fast paced thrilling ride which I throughly enjoyed. A new author to me I will definitely keeping my eye out for future books from Carissa. It was a pleasure to be able to read and review Like Follow Kill, which I highly recommend. Thank-you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and Carissa Ann Lynch for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Like Follow Kill which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
